As the only direct contact part between a car and the ground, the condition of tires is closely related to driving safety. So in daily life, we need to perform some routine maintenance and inspections on tires to ensure that they are always in normal working condition.
1. Pattern thickness: The thickness of the tire pattern is related to the tire's grip, drainage ability, etc. Regularly checking the thickness of tire tread is a very important thing, especially for friends who have driven a lot, it is even more important to check the tread pattern frequently. There are two methods to check the pattern, both of which can be used: one is to use the tire's built-in pattern thickness inspection block to check. When the parts on both sides of the groove are flush with the green highlighted part inside the red frame, it is the day to change the tire.
One method is to use some tire tread thickness gauges to check. Generally, when the tread depth is less than 3mm, attention should be paid, and when it is less than or equal to 1.6mm, it should be replaced directly.
2. Tire pressure: Friends who have the conditions can prepare a tire pressure gauge, which is not too high-end. You can regularly measure the tire pressure of your car. It is recommended to drive in normal cities as long as the tire pressure remains at the recommended value in the manual, and there is no need to increase or decrease it. Both mechanical pointer type and electronic type are acceptable.
3. Spare tire: The spare tire is a component that many people overlook for maintenance, as it may not be needed even if someone drives the car to scrap. But don't be afraid of ten thousand, be afraid of what might happen. It's hard to say when the spare tire will be used. So regular inspections and maintenance are also needed for the spare tire to ensure that it does not slip off during critical times. The spare tire needs to be regularly measured for tire pressure and checked for obvious cracks on the tire surface. If it is a bottom mounted spare tire, simple cleaning of the spare tire is also necessary.
4. Wear level: When the tire comes into contact with the ground, there will definitely be wear. We can use the wear level of the tire to make some wheel alignment judgments, which can assist in adjusting the wheels, so that the four wheels are at the same wear level as much as possible, and there will be no significant difference in grip between the four wheels. If conditions permit, regular diagonal replacement of the wheels can also help the tires reach the same level of wear and tear during use.
